We are seeking an experienced HR professional for the position of Head of Modern Trade to lead the National Account Management (NAM) team to develop and execute strategies to win & grow sustainable and profitable business for CBC within the modern trade channel. This role maintains deep knowledge and overview of modern trade markets, products, industries, and new developments in order to ensure the sale of the company’s product. The individual is responsible for acquiring and maintaining long-term relationships with new customers, ensuring their loyalty to the company. The individual will develop strong business connections, build trust, and identify new opportunities to increase sales and profitability. Additionally, this role will oversee customer-related processes to enhance loyalty, making CBC the preferred supplier. The Head of Modern Trade will also manage resource allocation for growth initiatives and collaborate with the trade marketing team to develop and execute annual marketing strategies aligned with overall CBC strategies. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leads regular business performance reviews with customers, identifies and proposes new initiatives to drive an additional growth engine for both CBC and customers.
  • Develop and negotiate all key modern trade customers’ Trading Terms Agreement (TTA)/commercial contract, which ensures a win-win deal.
  • Plan and manage the growth of the Modern Trade universe to meet or exceed the agreed target. Keeps updated with new outlet openings and closures to reduce possible exposure to debt.
  • Develop national and regional modern trade account strategies and oversee the execution in order to contribute to the overall growth of CBC business.
  • Establish and manage great customer relationships in order to earn trust and generate profitable, repetitive business as well as potential new/additional opportunities.
  • Direct resource allocation to fund portfolio growth initiatives which in line with the overall growth strategies of the company.
  • Jointly lead the development of modern trade sales & marketing strategies and oversee the implementation, which ensures the transparency of the trade promotions programs and events.
  • Lead the review on customers’ Accounts Receivables to agreed limits and work closely with the finance team to ensure bad debt exposure is minimized.
REQUIREMENT

The Successful Applicant:

  • University Degree preferably in Commercial & Sales Management, Business Administration, Economics, or equivalent.
  • At least 5-7 years of Sales and Marketing experience or a leadership role in the FMCG or a related field.
  • Experience in managing and leading a sales team in modern trade, chain business customers within the FMCG, Hospitality, Retailing, and Entertainment industry.
  • Experience in generating business growth profitably and leading high performance sales team.
  • Excellence in customer relationship management professional.
  • Strong in analytical skills, such as P&L statement and insight analysis of the customer's business model.
  • Strong in negotiation skills and persuasion proficiency advanced level.
  • Strong organizational skills, Finance for Non-Financial, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in English or other languages is a plus.
