Safety Officer

Position: Safety Officer

Main responsibility
The Safety Officer is responsible for monitoring and assessing hazardous and unsafe situations and developing measures to assure personnel safety.

Reporting and authority
The Safety Officer is reporting to Safety Supervisor/Site Manager

Scope of work

• To maintains awareness of active and developing situations.
• To enforce policies that reduce the risk of accidents
• Exercise emergency authority to prevent or stop unsafe acts.
• Investigate accidents that have occurred within incident areas.
• Ensure preparation and implementation of Site Safety and Health Plan (SSHP)
• Assign assistants and manage the incident safety organization.
• To ensures there are safety messages in each Incident Action Plan
• Conducts toolbox meetings
• Verifies that all tools and equipment are adequate and safe for use
• Promotes safe practices at the job site
• Enforces safety guidelines
• Trains and carries out drills and exercises on how to manage emergency situations
• Watches out for the safety of all workers and works to protect them from entering hazardous situations
• Responds to employees’ safety concerns
• Other tasks assigned by manager.

Requirement
The Safety Officer should possess the following qualifications:

• Bachelor degree in Electric, Mechanic, or Electronic Engineer.
• At least 3 year experiences in safety engineering or related fields.
• Knowledge of international safety requirements and safety management
• Able to work independently as well as within a team.
• Excellent verbal and written skills.
• Knowledge of OSHA, HSE and applicable regulatory agencies.
• Proficient on Microsoft Office Products.
• Ability to train all levels of the organization.
