Project Scope:
- Design and development of Simulator to manage Stock Policy.
- Development of Simulation tools for effective evaluation of Safety Stock.
- Analysis and Design of Simulation tools for Country specific Stock Policy.
- Development of tools for Corporate Procurement Training System.
- Groupe Renault-Romania(DLPA) was one of the early achievers to gain High Inventory Service Level with a reasonable Safety Stock using the concepts of this tool. They saved up 17.3 Million Euros in the last quarter of 2015 with a service level of 97.83%.
Project Details:
- The Simulation System was developed to have a better decision making ability in Procurements with the key parameters like lead time, supplier reliability, safety stock level and the service level. This product was developed considering the emerging Asian markets like China, South Korea and India.
- Involved in the analysis of legacy system of stock policy and identifying the scope of improvement.
- A sample dataset of 400 SKU’s (historical and forecasted sales) with variable behavior in sales pattern crucial to manage Stock Policy were used.
- Multiple methodologies like Standard Deviation Demand, Standard Deviation of Lead-Time, Min/Max and L’Indiced’Ecart de Prevision was used to evaluate Safety Stock.
- Regular meetings with the General Manager (Procurements) and Director (International Operations) were held in order to evaluate the performance of the product.
- A simulation model was developed to achieve high Service-level with reduced Coverage & Safety Stock Value.
