The Assistant Relationship Manager, Business Banking is responsible for assisting and working with the Relationship Manager or Regional Manager to grow and manage the portfolio of accounts under the Business Banking segment: by way of client acquisition, cross-sell and referrals. It is expected that a good understanding of the performance history and future plans of each portfolio is well understood before advice is given to the client. This role will collaborate with product partners and other stakeholders to ensure an effective and value-adding strategy is identified for the client whilst minimizing all potential risks to J Trust Royal Bank.

Key accountabilities are:

  • Grow the business through product volume, new client acquisition and increasing the number of products held per client
  • Develop and implement client strategies in conjunction with product partners and relevant parties to identify the right product and service opportunities
  • Implement an active 'call program' to increase client growth in target industries
  • Proactively develop and maintain a detailed understanding of client’s business and financial needs (account planning)
  • Work with product partners and other business units to identify opportunities and execute solutions
  • Develop effective working relationships with colleagues to deliver seamless services to clients
  • Ensure quality of portfolio through sound credit assessment, lending decisions and accurate account management
  • Ongoing vigilance for signs of credit deterioration and early intervention/escalation.  Adherence to regulatory, audit and internal compliance policies including credit risk

About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following –

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, computer literacy and client focus
  • Some level of experience in the Commercial/SME or business banking environment
  • Some knowledge of financial statements and credit assessment skills (background of sound business lending)
  • Higher Qualification in a business-related field
