Our Cambodia Office is seeking for 1 qualified Cambodian national to fill a vacant position of Water Treatment Facilitator for Purifier of Water Treatment Project, Water Sanitation and Hygiene Program base in Prasath Sambo District, Kompong Thom Province.
Salary: $300 plus competitive benefits
I. THE PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To work with community people, partners and stakeholders to collect information and analysis on drinking water source and quality issues in areas assigned and coordinate in establishing the Water Management Committee, facilitate the water treatment training/awareness and be able to run the Purifier of Water (PUR) water treatment facilities and process to comply with the context.
II. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
· Identify needs and target groups regarding to program selection criteria. Collect and analyze the community data through environmental investigation, PLA/PRA and household survey method.
· Assist in formation of the WSUG and School water management committee in the targeted villages/school. Provide the project orientation to beneficiaries through group-to-group discussion and community meeting.
· Works on the Physical Construction Supervision: Regularly/continually monitoring the implementation of the Water supply facilities construction, ensuring that contractors are working to achieve WASH manual, goals and objectives as well as ensure that the quality/workmanship of construction. Raise concerns with recommendations to WASH manager.
· Complete all records/forms per standard before the distribution of PUR water treatment starts and make sure all records are correct
· Assist WASH Manager to ensure the amount of PUR water treatment distributed are accurately weighed and good quality
· Development of training/awareness curriculum manuals on behavior change of Safe water uses promotion. Design and develop the training manuals, visual aids, and leaflets relevant to safe water use at households and school and also compiling the documents of members’ best practice.
· Follow up and monitoring: Regular visits and provides technical support to the WSUGs and Water management committee and solve any problems related to all kinds of water quality and water access facing to the beneficiaries.
· Reporting: Produce the monthly progress reports timely and accurately in compliance with report format and submit them to the WASH Manager.
· Community relations: Develop and maintain good relations with district and commune officials, school teacher, health centre, village leaders and village development committee (VDC) leaders in the project target areas.
· Participating in Workshops and Annual General meeting: Contribute in organizing the annual general meeting and workshop for communities.
III. REQUIREMENTS
· Must understand and agree with WV’s vision, mission and Core Values
· Bachelor Degree in the field of Rural Infrastructure and Chemistry.
· At least two-years experience in water treatment, rural health care and community development experience as an advantage.
· Previous experience in designing and development of training curriculum manual, visual aids relevant to water use and health promotion.
· Good interpersonal and communications skills and able to work with community
· Ability to speak, read and write English language is an advantage, but not necessary
· Previous experience in working with the rural poor peoples.
· Basic computer knowledge in MS Word, MS Excel
· Willing to work in rural area and stay overnight in the project area
· Honest and trustworthy, and demonstrated building teamwork.
· Must be able to travel long distances by motorbike.
